Green Mountain Coffee

Green Mountain Coffee began in 1981 as a small café on the Vermont ski slopes in the village of Waitsfield. Enthusiastic skiers were smitten by the high quality coffee freshly roasted on the premises and demand quickly grew beyond the café's walls leading to a thriving mail order business well beyond the New England area. In September 1993 Green Mountain Coffee went public and has a 90,000 square foot cutting edge roasting and distribution facility in Waterbury, Vermont, where its headquarters are now located.

Green Mountain Coffee, Inc., now a specialty coffee industry leader, has been recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the "Best 200 Small Companies in America". Through its Green Mountain Roasters Company brand, this enterprise offers over sixty varieties of high quality Arabica coffees including certified organic, Fair Trade, and proprietary blends such as "National Wildlife Blend" and assorted flavored coffees. Additionally the company strives to be a socially responsible leader in the coffee industry and donates at least five percent of all pre-tax profits to social and environmental projects that have local and global impacts.
